This year, we have leveled up with a new name, a refreshed look, and a larger, more thoughtfully curated event. From video games and tabletop experiences to board games, trading cards, and more, the Calgary Game & Collectors Show brings gamers, collectors, and fans together under one roof for a full day of play, competition, creativity, shopping and community.

Explore one of Calgary’s largest gaming and collectibles marketplaces, then experience the newest addition to the show, The Gaming Arena. This dedicated space features tournaments, casual free play, and interactive programming running throughout the day.

When it is time to take a break, visit the Pixel Pub, the licensed gaming lounge presented by Calgary’s own Video Game Trader. Settle in with friends and enjoy a relaxed, social atmosphere designed for connection and downtime between sessions.

In Honour of Ben Simbirski

As some of you know, we lost a good friend and true hero to our community, Benjamin Simbirski (but many of us knew him as Benson), in 2021 to a glioblastoma brain tumour. If you knew Ben, you knew he was one of the kindest and most genuine people around. He had a passion for many things, with gaming being one that was especially close to his heart.

Next year marks five years without my best friend, and it still feels unreal how you can go from talking every day for a decade to silence so quickly.

In honour of Ben’s memory, and with the blessing of the Simbirski family, we are proud to be partnering with the Brain Tumour Foundation of Canada for our May 30th event. Ben and I used to talk for hours about the kinds of events we wanted to create together, and this event carries that spirit.

The event has been evolving into something I know he would be proud to be a part of.
